#braincleanse
Do you want to start your day out feeling stress free, aware of all the things you need to accomplish, places you need to go? My friends...you seriously need to start your morning off with a "brain cleanse" or a more popular name, a "brain dump." I personally prefer cleanse...after all, I am a lady :). As Tim Ferris says, “I trust the weakest pen more than the strongest memory.” Write something down, and you're certain to not forget and you'll get it done. The first thing you have to do is get it all out of your head and capture it somewhere. Your brain is not meant to hold all of the stuff you have running through it and keeping it all up in there will only serve to disappoint you in both the short and long term.
Now...where you put all your thoughts is completely up to you. I know many people who can do the "paperless" system such as apps on your mobile device or desktop...I have tried this and I'm not quite there yet. I'm still a paper gal...at least for now. I've included a FREE printable you can download below. No matter which type of person you are, I have seen tremendous results in my own personal life and professional life by doing this first thing in the morning and again before I go to bed. By writing everything on my mind, I no longer have to "remember" to do something or call someone, it's written down and waiting to be executed and crossed off.
For you tech savvy folks...some apps that I personally LOVE for note taking and you can take with you anywhere you go are:
Apple Notes
Easy, quick access on any apple device to take notes.
Apple Reminders
I love this because I can access it on my iphone and it transfers to my apple watch as well. You can set it up as a different tab for brain cleanse. If you are driving and something comes to your mind that you want to add to your list, all you have to do is say, "hey siri...add (schedule dentist appointment) to my brain cleanse list." Done!! She will add it!!
Microsoft One Note
Perfect for organizing thoughts, to-do lists and projects.
Wunderlist
It's kinda the mac daddy when it comes to list builders. Whether you’re planning a holiday, sharing a shopping list with a someone else or managing multiple work projects, this app can help you track off all your personal and professional to-dos, set up reminders and allows you to collaborate with anyone you share your list with.
Sooo...if you feel as if your life is getting out of balance or you are feeling overwhelmed by everything that is on your agenda, try doing a "brain cleanse" at least once a day and take control of all your thoughts, wishes, desires and tasks. I guarantee you'll feel like a weight has been lifted out of your brain! Don't forget to click here for your free "brain cleanse" printable!
Have a great rest of the week!!
